SRTA Announces 10 Millionth Trip on the I-85 Express Lanes

The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) today announced that on Tuesday, November 5, the I-85 Express Lanes reached yet another usage milestone – registering the 10 Millionth trip taken on the roadway. In addition, daily and monthly usage reached record highs in October 2013, with 25,556 daily trips and 549,192 total trips for the month of October.

Governor Deal fulfills promise, ends GA 400 tolls

Gov. Nathan Deal today fulfilled promises made by leaders 20 years ago and by himself during his 2010 campaign by ending toll collection on GA 400. Shortly after recognizing the first motorists to pay the toll on the GA 400 Extension 20 years ago, Deal surprised onlookers by asking Linda and Mike Weinroth to pay the last toll on the roadway.

Georgia 400 Tolls to End Friday, November 22

The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) announced today that the Georgia 400 tolls will officially end Friday, November 22, weather permitting. Toll collection is scheduled to end after rush hour to lessen the impact on the GA 400 commute.

GA 400 TOLLWAY DEMOLITION PROJECT WORK BEGINS OCTOBER 25

The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) and the Georgia Department of Transportation announced that the first phase of a four-phase demolition project will begin on Friday, October 25, 2013, with restriping in the Peach Pass electronic toll lanes and modification/removal of redundant signage.

The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) recently received accolades for the planning and implementation of the I-85 Express Lanes project. In addition, the I-85 Express Lanes project was named the government “Project of the Year” by PMI Atlanta, the local chapter of the 70,000-member Project Management Institute.

Gov. Nathan Deal to end GA 400 toll next year

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that he will have the state pay off its bond debt on Dec. 1, 2013, and move rapidly after that to remove the Ga. 400 toll by the end of that year. This will stop collection four years earlier than previously planned.

Tolls Reduced on I-85 Express Lanes

Toll rate signs to be streamed on PeachPass.com soon

Today the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) announced that the toll rate range for the I-85 Express Lanes has been changed from 10 cents - 90 cents per mile to 1 cent - 90 cents per mile, thus allowing for lower toll rates during off peak hours. The SRTA Board voted on the toll rates today and the new rates went into effect just minutes after Board approval.

GA 400 Toll Plaza Signage Modifications Begin February 3, 2012

Lane Closures Begin Late Night on Feb. 3-5, 2012; Advanced Signage Begins Jan. 23

Beginning Friday, February 3 at midnight, weather permitting, the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) will begin modifying existing overhead and ground mounted signage located near the GA 400 Toll Plaza area. Changes will consist of adding “Peach Pass” to various signs to visually reinforce the fact that motorists can use their Peach Pass or Cruise Card to access the all-electronic toll lanes on GA 400.

Express Lanes Waiver Official Statement

An official written request has been made to U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to grant a waiver to allow Peach Pass customers that have two or more passengers in their vehicle to be exempt from paying tolls to access the I-85 Express Lanes.
